Simple present tense


Simple Present Tense

v Something was true in the past, is true in the present, and will be true in the future”
v The Simple present is used to express habitual or everyday activities

There are three patterns commonly used  in present tense.
1.     Positive sentence
( + ) S + V1(s/es)+O ( Noun/Adj/adv )
e.g
a)    The sun rises in the east every morning
b)    Najwa goes to school everyday

2.     Negative Sentence

( - ) S +Do not / doesn’t + V1+O ( Noun/Adj/adv )

e.g
a)    The sun doesn’t rise in the east every morning
b)    Najwa doesn’t go to school everyday

3.     Interogative Sentence

( ? ) Do / Does + S + V1+O ( Noun/Adj/adv )

e.g
a)    Does the sun rise in the east everyday?
b)    Do they study at home every night?
